Job Description

*Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality care to patients in various settings, including skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, and inpatient rehabilitation. The COTA will play a crucial role in helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals and improve their daily living skills.

*Duties*

* Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
* Provide direct patient care, focusing on activities of daily living (ADLs) to enhance patient independence.
* Conduct assessments and document patient progress towards goals.
* Educate patients and their families about therapeutic activities and home programs.
* Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
* Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and outcomes.
* Stay updated on medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology relevant to occupational therapy practices.
* Support patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings, adapting care plans as necessary.

*Qualifications*

* Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
* Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
* Experience in a skilled nursing facility or similar healthcare setting is preferred.
* Familiarity with occupational health practices and ADLs.
* Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
* Commitment to providing high-quality patient care and improving patient outcomes.
