Job Description

Paradise Valley Country Club is a private country club located in the heart of Paradise Valley, Arizona. Our club offers golf, tennis, fitness, swimming, casual and fine dining to it's membership. We are currently hiring an experienced Banquet Chef who will be responsible for food preparation for all private functions and supervising the preparation and plating of foods served in all private dining rooms. Directing and supervising kitchen personnel in the discharge of their duties. This is a high volume position!

What you'll do:

• Staying informed on all scheduled parties, verifying with executive chef and sous chef that all required items are on hand or are ordered. Touring kitchen and other departments with in kitchen to ensure functions requirements.
• Prepare all foods for functions with assistance of cooks or Executive Sous Chef, ensuring food is properly portioned, plated and garnished, having extra hor d' oeuvres on hand for back up.
• Assist hotline cooks with production and coverage.
• Have sufficient equipment and hot and cold plates to properly serve food leaving all equipment clean and in good repair
• Maintain proper storage of foods in refrigerators or freezers and allocating banquet leftovers to be used.
• Assist with other duties as requested by the chef

Requirements

• 3-5 years experience as a banquet chef in club or hotel banquet environment
• Culinary degree not required but helpful
• Requires own tools and cutlery
• Knowledge of all phases of food preparation and presentation
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to accurately estimate food required for each function
• Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
• Knowledge of health department regulations
• Good people and supervisory skills
• Must practice safety at all times
• Must have a non-expired Arizona Food Handler's Certification
