Vaco is working with a well-established local company to identify a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Assistant to join their finance team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, thrives on accuracy, and is eager to grow their career in accounting. Location: Hoover, AL Salary Range: $52,000 - $62,000 Responsibilities: Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing Prepare and maintain financial records, reports, and reconciliations Support month-end and year-end closing procedures Process invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments Assist with payroll preparation as needed Maintain accurate filing systems and digital records Communicate with vendors, clients, and internal teams regarding billing or payment inquiries Provide general administrative support to the accounting department Qualifications: Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor's preferred but not required) 5-7 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Note: Compensation depends on various factors including skills, experience, certifications, location, and organizational needs.
