GSE Dynamics, Inc., a full-service defense engineering and manufacturing company located in Hauppauge, NY, is seeking a full-time experienced highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support our Finance and Accounting department. Duties include: Support Accounting Manager General ledger account analyses and bookkeeping Payroll accrual analysis Process revenue recognition in ERP system Contract cost accounting analysis Bank account reconciliations Engage in customer or compliance audits (i.e. DCAA) Additional projects as assigned by Accounting Manager or Vice President of Finance Process Weekly Payroll Process weekly payroll using third-party software and posting to General Ledger Manage payroll time cards and employee manufacturing labor tickets Prepare payroll analytics, including overtime analysis Quarterly 941 reconciliations, annual W-2 reconciliations Keep up-to-date of the payroll processing system and any related changes in wage/tax laws Respond to questions regarding pay policies and processes Qualifications: Accounting-related Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree. 5+ years of bookkeeping experience. 5+ years of payroll processing experience. Experience working within a manufacturing AS9100 quality environment is a plus. Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word. Manufacturing software experience (INFOR Visual ERP software a plus) Ability to take direction and work both independently and as a team player Strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task effectively Strong analytical skills Strong communication skills including written, verbal, and listening Requirements: Salary Range: $65,000 – $80,000 a year This is an estimated salary range with any actual compensation offers to be dependent upon factors including experience, skill set, qualifications, and other factors allowed by law.
