CTR Group is looking for an Accountant II to join our team!

Pay Range: $24 - $30 per Hour plus Benefits

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM, in person at corporate office in Newport News, VA

Job Purpose and Summary

The accountant position will be responsible for all facets of accounting, including general ledger, financials, accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, payroll and bank reconciliations.

Under the direction of the CFO, the accountant maintains all necessary and appropriate records, files and processes to ensure the smooth and accurate financial operation of the organization(s). Our organization has multiple entities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Bookkeeping

· General Ledger, Journal Entries and reconciliations

• Inputting and Processing payroll from initial entry to final check and processing of tax payments.
• Assist in Invoicing, accounts receivable processing and collections follow-up.
• Review vendor invoices and prepare payable files for entry into accounting system
• Update the inventory records and prepare reports for month end reconciliations
• Assist the CFO in preparing month end reports, reconciliations, and financial statements
• Assist in completion of monthly, quarterly and yearly taxes.
• Assist with collections

Banking

• Make deposits into bank and record electronic receipts in accounting system
• Reconcile bank accounts weekly and monthly
• Assist CFO with preparing reports for cash flow and cash management
• Prepare ACH and Wire templates

Other

• Maintain customer profile information in accounting system
• Assist with completing new customer forms, credit applications, etc.
• Assist with maintaining shared office files, maintenance of internal documentation, etc.
• Support payroll and accounts payable functions as needed
• Carry out all responsibilities in adherence to established processes and procedures.

Requirements:  

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting plus 3 years of accounting experience.
• Knowledge of computerized accounting systems.
• Proficiency in MS Excel is required;
• Experience in Sage and/or Greenshades is appreciated but not required. Training will be provided.
