Location: Elmwood Park, New Jersey

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Pay Rate: $110,000 - $130,000 annually (depending on experience)

Shift: Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM (flexibility required up to 12:00 AM and occasional Saturdays)

Job Summary

The Second Shift Site Manager will lead and coordinate all second shift operations across Manufacturing, Warehouse, Maintenance, Quality, and Safety departments in a food manufacturing facility. This role ensures operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and a safe, productive work environment while driving performance and fostering team engagement. This position offers a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $110,000 annually, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee second shift operations to meet production, warehouse, and maintenance goals.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, SQF, and sanitation standards.
• Supervise department supervisors and hourly staff.
• Plan labor and production schedules to meet demand and optimize efficiency.
• Monitor production formulations and batching for product quality.
• Drive KPIs including yield, throughput, waste, and downtime.
• Manage warehouse inventory: receiving, storage, FIFO, and handling.
• Coordinate maintenance activities and escalate critical issues.
• Promote safety culture and enforce OSHA and plant safety policies.
• Utilize digital tools (e.g., Red Zone, ERP/WMS) for tracking and communication.
• Lead shift handoff and KPI meetings with cross-functional teams.
• Act as main decision-maker during second shift.
• Train and coach team members to uphold company values.
• Participate in HACCP and food safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, Operations Management, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of leadership in food manufacturing or related environment.
• Proven experience managing cross-functional teams.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, SQF, and regulatory standards.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Proficient in digital production systems (Red Zone, ERP/WMS).
• Strong leadership, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with production paperwork and batch documentation.
• Experience with fryer or thermal processing environments.
• Flexibility to work second shift hours and occasional weekends/holidays.
